RBM - Resorbable Blast Media

What is RBM?

SEM scan of RBM coating

RBM stands for 'Resorbable Blast Media' - a type of surface treatment where the dental implant is blasted with particles of Hydroxyapetite (beta-Tricalcium Phosphate, Alpha Tcp, TTcp and Calcium Phosphate (CPP). Surface roughness of between Ra 1.2 - 1.5 is consistently achieved through an automated process.

SEM scan of RBM thread

The process leaves a roughness without leaving debris or a acid residue in the surface, allowing for improved retention characteristics when surrounded with bone, proven through extensive clinical cases.
